I am interested in photography combined with graphic design. I like how images can be transformed by using digital software’s such as photoshop to enhance the overall design. To me the layout of leaflets, websites and magazines is what interests me into looking at that product which is something I would like to familiarise myself with and evolve my skills. `
My project will be dedicated to the two words “Surroundings” and “distortion” which is something which excites me due to having a similar experience in my previous project using the word “deconstruction.” Given the opportunity to explore two words I feel gives me endless opportunity for the project. Whilst conducting research I found an artist names Nikola Olic whose architectural photography stood out to me. I was especially inspired by how the outcomes of her photographs have an abstract look; it is almost unrecognisable she has photographed buildings. She has photographed sections of the buildings which gives it a ‘distorted’ appearance as you can see that the buildings have been made up by a repeated pattern.
To further develop with my photography, I would like to combine digital artwork. Without having the experience of creating digital artwork this is something I hope to work on during this project, this will involve me experimenting with software’s including photoshop, Illustration and word. I intend to create a series of digital outcomes by using a series of my own primary research photographs and overall create visually interesting pieces which could be potentially used as posters, leaflet covers, magazine covers etc…
